Junk Jazz Trio schroothoop unveils new single "Tanz der Quallen" with accompanying video

Posted on 11/01/2023

schroothoop, the innovative junk jazz trio, is excited to announce the release of their new single Tanz der Quallen along with an accompanying music video. The track is the first taste of the band's upcoming album MACADAM, set for release on April 7th via the groove obsessed Sdban Ultra.

Tanz der Quallen is a perfect representation of schroothoop's unique sound, with the thumb piano providing a dreamy structure for the saxophone-turned vuvuzela, while drums keep the second-line parade going. The band describes the song as a deep sea get-together for all living and plastic beings.

On MACADAM, schroothoop explores the vast sounds of discarded objects found on the streets of Brussels, turning wooden crates into guitars and lyres, and scrap metal into thumb pianos, cimbaloms, and percussion bells. The band's semi-improvised songs are born out of several successful residencies and live performances.

The music video for Tanz der Quallen is a surreal visual journey that perfectly complements the band's unique sound, featuring the use of different textures and animation techniques to capture the spirit of the track and the band's DIY instruments.

Fans can expect more exciting new music from the junk jazz trio schroothoop in the coming months. Stay tuned for more.
