'Morning In The Jungle' is taken from Black Flower's new album 'Magma' released on January 28 via Sdban Ultra.

When shooting the videoclip, the result was totally unpredictable. The only thing we knew is that the outcome, due to the analogue approach, would be raw, sincere and that it would provoke a circular movement. In a pitch dark room we waited. There was a blinding flash, illuminating our action. Then dazed, we prepared for the next shot. We could not see or test the images, so it was a matter of waiting until the film was developed.

The technique is based on the invention of the ‘Time-Slice’ device developed by Tim Macmillan back in the early eighties. This technique was later commercialized by The Matrix where it was renamed into ‘Bullet Time’: A big circle stocked with cameras that all took photos at the same time from different viewpoints, thus ‘freezing’ time inside the circle.

The circular camera rig was handmade just for the purpose of this video shoot. It consists of a custom wooden base construction to form the circle, a paper leader inside a rubber casing to make everything lightproof, and 86 little cameras that were 3D-printed and fitted with small 13mm convex lenses. The 16mm Kodak film could be loaded in and taken through the whole thing with a fragile winding system. Since there is no shutter system on the cameras, everything had to be done in complete darkness. The photos themselves were taken with a flash.
